The paper highlights importance of the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) from several dimensions. It deals with purpose, methodology and scope of the study. It analysis zone, commissionary and district (city) wise university libraries of the state in relation to area, population, literacy rate of the regions and highlights factors responsible for their imbalance growth and development of university libraries (UL) and finally suggest measures for balancing the same for scientific development of state.Downloads
