Highlights the ethos of Ranganathan's five laws of library science. Points out the analogy between a library and living organism. Shows that growth in size and volume adds to problems for library service and usage. Suggests rejection and weeding of documents should be a concurrent operation with that of the selection and acquisition of documents. Bibliographic co-ordination of documents collections and subject Wise stratification of collection has been highlighted. Subject orientation and specialisation in the education of librarians are also discussed.Downloads
