Abstract

Examines the evolution of curriculum from basic librarianship to today's information science. Identifies the current day values of information transfer process. Changes in curricula is the result of research, teaching and practice cycle. Planning educational innovations in library and information science has to be carried cooperatively among educators, practioners, policy makers and researchers, with the addition of students views. Each group has unique contribution to make. Such an approach helps strategic planning of information science education.
