Abstract

Highlights the recent developments in classification research done by the DRTC, CRG, and the West German School. Identifies the interrelationship of philosophical, psychological and linguistic approaches in design of classification schemes, thesaurus, and indexing languages. Comments on the "ontical structures of universal classification" developed by Ingetraut Dahlberg.
