Abstract

Discusses the role of training in the manpower development programme in the field of library and information services. Stresses the role of teachers in training programme. Mentions the requisite qualifications for a L and IS teacher. Mentions the situation in India so far as training of L and IS teacher is concerned. Suggests some programmes for training of L and IS teachers. Discusses how Indo-US cooperation can be useful in training of teachers of L and IS.
