Use of Electronic Information Services (EIS) in Drdo Laboratories: A Status Study

Libraries and information centres are service oriented organizations, whose primary function is to acquire, collect, or-ganize and provide access to information resources. In recent years with the advent of e-resources libraries are required to device variety of innovative new services and especially in the R&D environment. The DRDO is acquiring scholarly scientific literature, through the consortia arrangement for the use of scientific and research community working in their laboratories, and serviced by the respective Technical Information Centres (TICs). The paper examines the nature and types of information services offered by the TICs to meet the varied information needs of their users, viz. scientists and researchers.Downloads
