University Library System:Fourth Plan Period

This paper is based on the data for 1963-64, which are the latest available. The estimate of the annual book fund is based on 200 advanced books, treatises, and reference books, and 100 learned periodicals, to be acquired for each of the main classes or groups of main classes of research. The total library fund needed by 52 universities believed to have research activities, is estimated for the Fourth Plan Period according to each of two Plan Models. According to Plan Model 2, the annual library fund required will be Rs 22 million. The annual book fund needed will be Rs 11 million. This does not include the library fund needed for teaching activities of the universities.Downloads
