Bibliometric technique of citation analysis was applied to the data of Geophysics, 1980 Volume. The distribution of citation frequencies is found of negative exponential nature. The average half-life of the literature was determined and found to be 9.4 years. Brookes technique of calculating Annual Aging Factor (AAF= a) was applied to demonstrate its applicability for different periods of classic literature. The results could be utilized for managing the resources and services for the users of Information in Exploration Geophysics.Downloads
