Information Technology: Applications in Development-Catalysing Activities in India

Highlights of some recent projects and programmes in India in the application of remote sensing technology, satellite communication, and computers in development-catalysing areas for data and information collection, processing, and accessing, are presented. Issues relating to information manpower development policy, national information policy, and the role of international professional bodies vis a vis these developments in information technology and their utilization, are raised.Downloads
