States the basic aspects of higher education. Identifies into live categories the problems of college freshmen in India. Discusses the advantages of the user instruction programmes to college students and analyses motivation factors that lead students towards reading and knowledge seeking. Presents the methodology for user orientation programmes and the general contents of a student's guide to library use. Highlights the "Cinderella" attitude towards library and discusses the role of library in the newly adopted semester system at the under-graduate level in India.Downloads
