Abstract

The study deals with citation analysis of Pedological literature from the Journal of Indian Society of Soil Science 1988-1992, which reveals nature of communication, authorship distribution, geographic distribution, time gap, pattern and contribution from foreign countries. The citation study reveals that serials constitutes 73%; books 14%; conference proceedings 4% and almost 10% grey literature. Productivity of cited journals reveals 55% of citations are from the first 5 journal of ranked list thus signifying their high degree of productivity. Pedology literature and distribution of literature in journals confirm closely to Bradfords' Law of Scattering signifying developed nature of the subject.
