The role of reviews - compilative and critical - in the advancement and diffusion of knowledge is discussed. The different types of reviews, characteristics of a good review, and the knowledge of the subject and knowledge of preparing reviews on the part of the reviewer, are briefly discussed. Selye's two-volume monograph Hormones and resistance* is examined from the viewpoint of its efficacy as a documentation tool for document search and selection in the field of Hormones.Downloads
