He is primarily known to the world as a great poet but his contribution as an educator and humanist is also very significant. As an educator he took into account all types of men and their aspirations, endeavours and achievements. Tagore's educational philosophy is based on fullness and conversion of individual fullness to social fullness. He wanted to create cultured knowledge environment and also to communicate necessary knowledge and skill for rendering service to the villages. The present paper is an attempt to understand Tagore's concept of knowledge and methods he adopted to communicate it for social benefit.Downloads
