Explains the importance of user education programme in a university library. Describes the difficulties faced by the science students of Jadavpur University in using the libraries, their level of awareness about the different sections and services provided by the central library. Highlights the library use behaviour of students, their level of ability to use the different types of reference books. Discusses the objectives of user education programmes and methodology adopted for the study of users. Suggests different methods, courses to improve library use at the university level.Downloads
